Last June I purchased a retractable awning from Toff Industries through a dealer. On the morning of May 31, after extending the awning, one of the metal arms broke at the seam and the entire awning collapsed. There was no rain or wind then the collapse occurred. I called the dealer and they came over to inspect and said that they had never seen this happen before. He referred me to Harold from Toff Industries, whom I spoke with on June 1. Harold requested I send him images of the broken awning arm. On the morning of June 2, he sent me an email claiming that the arm is rated to hold hundreds of pounds, and that “negligence” must have caused his product to break apart. This was clearly not the case as the item was either defective or not installed properly. The arm clearly pulled apart at the seam due to poor manufacturing. If myself, my wife or my young son had been under the awning at the time of the collapse, they could have been seriously injured.

Several years ago I purchased a Toff Solarshield Awning from Dutchess Custom Awnings in Hopewell Junction, NY. I couldn’t be more pleased. It really makes a difference in temperature – so much cooler under the awning on a hot Summer day. Easy to operate with my remote control. I have recommended Toff Awnings to friends and family.
We have two Retractable Awnings at Dutchess Stadium that were manufactured by Awnings by Toff. They are great quality and still look great after all these years. We recently had the covers changed with our new logo.
